Unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes view of independent film distribution

Thought it could be interesting for those who like independent movies, and wants to help out. Have teenagers/college kids interested in the field? Might be a great way for them to get a glimpse of what happens to a Sundance independent film once it's gets out there!

Dear friends of MY PERESTROIKA,
Do you want to have a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes view of independent film distribution with the production team of the acclaimed Sundance documentary film, MY PERESTROIKA?
(If you haven't seen the film yet, you can get a peek at photos, reviews and a clip on the website www.myperestroika.com)
MY PERESTROIKA will be released in New York on March 23rd, at the IFC Center in Greenwich Village.
Because of this exciting release, we are seeking a few volunteers to help us out, as of March 1st for 2-3 weeks in advance of our theatrical run. Some volunteers can even help out remotely, only coming in to our office for a fun pizza & strategy meeting once a week with the film team and director.

What We'll Be Doing:
*Contacting bloggers/meet up groups/list-serves
*Promoting the film through various social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Live Journal, Vkontakte etc)
*Bringing posters and flyers to venues all over the city - some in Russian neighborhoods
Helpful Skills:
*Experience with WordPress, Twitter and Facebook, Vkontakte, Linked In, Live Journal, Odnoklassniki
*Knowledge of Russian a big plus though not a requirement.

Ayelet Galena needs our help!
"1 year old Ayelet Yakira Galena,was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow failure disorder and will need a bone marrow transplant. Ayelet's parents, Seth Galena and Hindy Poupko have begun the process of finding a perfect match for Ayelet and they need our help. "
I am very sorry for little Ayelet and her parents. Let's try to help!

Just got my book draft back from the editing and reviewing. Got some great insightful comments. Now back to the keyboard - will be revising some and rewriting a chapter.

On Meetup 57, My Perestroika - a preview
Today, or rather yesterday, we had an annual Meetup 57 - the reunion of 57 alumni in NYC. Big thank you to Sasha and Volodya for organizing!.

How many times were you asked for a professional advice or a "little favor" - at a party, in a casual conversation with a stranger or an acquaintance or their brother? "So how would you go about ... XYZ?", "Would you mind looking over my business plan?", "Oh, this reality check you are doing is such a great idea - so let me tell you about my situation...."
Have you been there? I know a ton of people who play along. They feel regret and resentment, yet they do allow others to steal their goods (well, services) !
So, what can you do? What do you say in those cases?
